Creating Alarms and Configuring Notifications

In the Sensgreen Smart Building Platform, you have the flexibility to create alarms for specific rooms and parameters. Alarms help you stay informed about critical conditions in your building. Follow these steps to create alarms and configure notification settings:

Step 1: Access the Alarms Page

  1. Create a New Alarm: Once on the Alarms page, you'll notice a "+ New Alarm" button. Click on this button to initiate the alarm creation process.

Step 2: Choose Alarm Criteria

  1. Select Room: Begin by choosing the room for which you want to create an alarm. This allows you to specify where the alarm conditions will be monitored.

  2. Choose Parameter: Next, select the parameter for which you want to set up an alarm. Parameters can include temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, PM2.5, TVOC, and more. If the parameter follows a predefined standard set by the building (e.g., WHO standards), you can choose the "Standard Alarm" option. This automatically sets alarm thresholds based on predefined risky or unhealthy levels.

  3. Custom Alarm: Alternatively, you can create custom alarms. For custom alarms, define minimum and maximum values that are acceptable for the parameter. If the parameter falls outside this range, the alarm will trigger.

  4. Boolean Metrics: For boolean metrics such as occupancy status, door/window conditions, water leaks, etc., specify "true" or "false" conditions instead of numerical ranges.

Step 3: Set Trigger Conditions

  1. Trigger Time: Choose when you want the alarm to trigger. You have two options:

  • Immediately: The alarm will be generated as soon as the parameter goes out of the defined range.

  • Custom Time: If you select a custom time (e.g., 30 minutes), the alarm will trigger only if the parameter remains outside the range for at least that duration.

Step 4: Configure Notification Methods

  1. Sensgreen Mobile App: By default, all alarms generate notifications via the Sensgreen mobile app, ensuring you're promptly informed.

  2. Additional Notification Channels: Apart from the mobile app, you can configure notifications through other channels:

    • Mail: Receive alarms via the email address registered in the Sensgreen Smart Building Platform.

    • SMS: Get notifications sent as text messages to the provided phone number in your user settings.

    • WhatsApp: Receive notifications through WhatsApp to the same phone number provided in your user settings.

  3. Flexible Notification Choices: You can choose any combination of these notification methods to suit your preferences and ensure you're alerted in multiple ways.

Step 5: Save and Activate the Alarm

  1. Review and Confirm: Before finalizing, review your alarm settings to ensure they align with your monitoring needs.

  2. Save and Activate: Click the "Save" or "Activate" button to save your alarm settings. The alarm is now active and will monitor the specified conditions in real time.

Creating alarms and configuring notifications in the Sensgreen Smart Building Platform empowers you to proactively manage and respond to critical conditions within your building, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

By following these steps, you can efficiently set up alarms tailored to your building's unique requirements and receive timely notifications through your preferred channels.

Monitoring Alarm History

In The Platform, you can easily monitor the history of alarms triggered in your building. To access this information, follow these steps:

Step 1: View Triggered Alarms

  1. Select Triggered Alarms Tab: On the Alarms page, locate and click on the "Triggered" tab. This tab displays a list of alarms that have been triggered within your building.

  2. Column Information: You will see columns displaying relevant alarm details:

  • Room Name: Identifies the room where the alarm occurred.

  • Parameter: Specifies the parameter (e.g., temperature, humidity) associated with the alarm.

  • Value: Indicates the value that triggered the alarm.

  • Trigger Time: Shows the exact time when the alarm was triggered.

  • Duration: Displays the duration for which the alarm has been active.

  • Continuing: Indicates whether the alarm is still active ("Yes") or has been resolved ("No").

Step 2: Sort and Organize Alarms

  1. Sorting Options: You can sort the alarms based on various criteria by clicking on the respective column header.

For instance:

  • Clicking on "Duration" will sort alarms from longest to shortest duration.

  • Clicking on the same column header again will reverse the sorting order.

Step 3: Resolve Alarms

  1. Resolving Alarms: If your building management team has taken action to address an alarm or is already aware of the situation, you can mark the alarm as resolved.

  2. Resolve Alarm Button: For each alarm listed, there is a "Resolve" button available. Clicking this button will mark the alarm as resolved.

Step 4: Access Resolved Alarms

  1. View Resolved Alarms: Resolved alarms are archived for reference and can be accessed in the "Resolved" tab. Any alarms that have been marked as resolved will be moved to this section.

Step 5: Regular Monitoring

  1. Stay Informed: Regularly check the Triggered Alarms and Resolved Alarms tabs on the Alarms page to monitor the alarm history and track how your building's alarm situations have been managed over time.

Monitoring the alarm history in the Sensgreen Smart Building Platform ensures you have a comprehensive record of alarm events, allowing you to track and address critical conditions effectively.
